The word “balayage” is French for “to sweep or paint.” Balayage is a technique for lightening hair in which the lightener is painted free-hand onto your hair to create a natural looking effect. Balayage is great for someone who wants to color their hair but still wants it to be low maintenance. Since the color does not go all the way up to your roots, you are left with softer, less noticeable regrowth lines.

When you come for a balayage at our CT salon, we will start with a consultation to decide the color and look you are hoping to achieve. Once you’ve reviewed color swatches and chosen a color, our stylist will then begin coloring your hair with lightener and then let it sit and process. Next, you’ll have your hair washed at the sink and a glaze will be added to tone the  color. Then your stylist will dry your hair and show you the final look!

Pre-Booking: We recommend pre-booking to touch up your balayage every 8-10 weeks.
